Christopher Burke
Christopher Burke a retired Boeing 747 Captain with British Airways.
He joined British European Airways as a second officer on Vanguard aircraft
in 1971 having obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
at the University of Salford, United Kingdom. As a First Officer of the
BAC 1-11, Christopher Burke began his first flights along the Berlin Air
Corridor in 1974 in a career which was to witness over 1000 operations
across the the GDR both as co pilot and later, Captain of HS 748 aircraft.
On the night of 31st August 1975, along with Captain Bob Warnock, Christopher
Burke operated the last commercial British Airways flight to Berlin Tempelhof
flying BAC 1-11, Victor Mike Oscar pictured here on the left. With the hyper links, this, his own web site, is
intended to highlight a little known little known piece of aviation history.
